Sustainability
At a glance
By 2050, global electric-power generating capacity is expected to increase between 50 to 100%, with electricity generation demand increasing by 30 to 76% (USEIA). The increasing energy demand must be met in more climate-aligned ways. With Steel Reef’s expanding network of utility-grade infrastructure, we continue to power potential and push the boundaries of what is possible to power the ever-expanding demand for electricity.
Informed by our humble rural Canadian roots, we are focused on sustainability in our decisions and actions every day. Sustainability is integral in our ability to support the energy community in capturing wasted energy, processing and distributing associated natural gas, and bringing in net new electricity production and distribution for homes, communities and businesses.
Steel Reef has Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals to ensure we are positioned for strong and sustainable growth long into the future.
Steel Reef’s Board and ESG Advisory Committee, provides oversight of value creation opportunities and the assessment and oversight of ESG-related risks.
Steel Reef has incorporated ESG factors into the mandate of its Board committees, ensuring that sustainability-related matters receive the highest level of oversight from the Board on a quarterly basis.
